Overview

This Privacy Policy applies to the Cave Mapper mobile application for mobile devices, together with any related public website pages or services operated by PIECZARKA (collectively, the “Application”). PIECZARKA is referred to in this policy as the “Service Provider”.

Cave Mapper is a cave mapping, survey note, route archive, chamber record, tunnel path, geological landmark, and expedition documentation utility. The Application is designed to work without user registration, login, accounts, or authorization.

Safety notice: Cave Mapper is a mapping documentation and field note utility. It does not replace professional cave surveying, navigation equipment, safety training, expedition planning, rescue systems, geological assessment, emergency equipment, access permits, or local regulations.

What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?

The Application does not collect, log, or store personal information when you download and use it. Registration is not required.

If the Application or website is used with an active internet connection, ordinary technical protocol data, such as an ephemeral IP address, may be transmitted to facilitate network connectivity. This data is not retained by the Service Provider or used for tracking.

Any cave layouts, chamber dimensions, tunnel paths, geological landmarks, route distances, elevation records, expedition trails, survey notes, historical records, progress data, and app settings created inside the Application are intended to remain local to your device unless a future feature clearly states otherwise.

Does the Application collect precise real-time location information?

The Application does not collect precise real-time location information of your mobile device for the Service Provider. If users manually enter or save survey-related location, route, or expedition notes inside the app, those records remain local to the user’s device unless a future feature clearly states otherwise.

Do third parties see or have access to information?

Since the Application does not collect personal information, no personal data is shared with third parties. The Service Provider does not sell personal data.

Data Retention

The Service Provider does not retain personal information collected through the Application because the Application does not collect personal information during normal use.

Local cave survey records, including layouts, chamber dimensions, tunnel routes, geological landmarks, expedition trails, distances, elevation notes, survey notes, progress records, and app settings, remain on the user’s device until the user edits, exports, clears, or uninstalls the Application, depending on device and app behavior.

If you voluntarily contact PIECZARKA by email or through a website contact form, the information you provide may be retained only as long as necessary to respond to your request, manage communication, meet legal obligations, or protect legitimate business interests.

Data Deletion

Because the Application does not collect or store personal information on Service Provider systems, there is normally no app-collected personal data for PIECZARKA to delete.

You can delete local app data by using any available in-app clear/reset options, deleting individual records where supported, clearing application storage through your device settings, or uninstalling the Application from your device.

If you voluntarily provided information to PIECZARKA by email, contact form, or another direct communication channel, you may request deletion by contacting support@pieczarka.ink. PIECZARKA will process deletion requests where required by applicable law.

Opt-out rights

Since the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, uninstalling it removes the Application from your device and stops any further use of the Application. If you have voluntarily contacted the Service Provider, you may request deletion of that voluntary communication data as described above.

Children

The Application is not intended for children under 13 years of age, or any higher age required by applicable law. The Service Provider does not knowingly solicit data from children or market to them. Since the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, children’s data is not collected by the Application.

If a child voluntarily provides personal information through other means, a parent or guardian may contact PIECZARKA at support@pieczarka.ink to request deletion where required by law.

Security

Because the Application does not collect personal data, the risk of personal data exposure from normal app use is minimal. However, no security system is completely secure. The Service Provider uses reasonable safeguards to protect systems and any data it may hold from voluntary communications.

Data Breach Notification

Since the Application does not collect personal data through normal use, the risk of a data breach affecting app-collected personal data is minimal. If a breach occurs involving information you voluntarily provided directly to PIECZARKA, the Service Provider will notify affected users where required by applicable law.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

The Service Provider may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted with an updated effective date. Where required by law, the Service Provider will seek consent before material changes take effect.

Previous versions of this Privacy Policy may be requested by contacting support@pieczarka.ink.

Your Consent

If you voluntarily provide information to the Service Provider and processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
